Andi Karaboutis Biography

Ms. Adriana Karaboutis, also known as Andi, has been the Chief Information and Digital Officer of National Grid PLC, a natural-gas and electricity distribution service in the U.K. and the U.S. Northeast, since August 14, 2017. Ms. Karaboutis has been an Executive Vice President of Technology, Business Solutions and Corporate Affairs at Biogen Idec Ltd. since September 24, 2014. She oversees the information technology division, the digital health and data science teams and the corporate affairs organization. She served as an Executive Vice President of Technology, Business Solutions and Corporate Affairs at Biogen Inc. since December 2015 until March 04, 2017 and served as its Executive Vice President of Technology and Business Solutions since September 24, 2014. She oversaw information technology and led the digital health technology and advanced analytics team at Biogen, Inc. She joined Biogen in 2014.

Karaboutis served as Global Chief Information Officer of Dell Inc. since January 2012 and served as its Vice President from March 2010 to September 2014, where she was responsible for leading an efficient and innovative global IT organization focused on powering Dell as an end-to-end technology solutions provider. She served as Vice President of Information Technology at Dell supporting product groups, manufacturing, procurement and supply chain operations. In her experience at Dell, she led a transformation of Dell's manufacturing operations, rolling out a new manufacturing execution system globally.

Prior to joining Dell in 2010, she worked at General Motors and Ford Motor Company for a combined 21 years in various international leadership positions including computer-integrated manufacturing, supply chain operations and information technology. At GM, she oversaw a transformational move to outsource manufacturing and supply chain IT to multiple integrators, led migrations from complex legacy systems to service-oriented architectures and defined and enabled an innovative global model of systems. At Ford, Ms. Karaboutis helped achieve significant efficiency gains through the use of Six Sigma methodologies. She has been an Independent Director at Perrigo Company plc since May 02, 2017; Advance Auto Parts, Inc. since February 15, 2015 and Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Massachusetts, Inc. since January 2016. She serves on the Babson College Advisory Board for the Center for Women's Entrepreneurial Leadership. She serves as a Member of the Advisory Board for InformationWeek. She is a member of the Wayne State College of Engineering Hall of Fame. She served as a Board Member of the Manufacturing Executive Leadership Forum from 2009 to 2014 and served as the President of the Michigan Council of Women in Technology from 2008 to 2010.

Ms. Karaboutis holds a B.S. in Computer Science from Wayne State University. She completed the accelerated Marketing Strategy Program at Duke University's Fuqua School of Business. She graduated in Electronic Computer Control Systems from Wayne State University.
