Digital transformation is not just about marketing technology. Dion Hinchcliffe explains that the digital transformation needed to be a digital business will require examining how work gets done throughout the company and by whom, and what will become automated.

Operations is how business gets done on a daily basis. And so when that becomes digitized how the business operates in terms of its platforms, and in terms of how it provides value to its customers is realized on a day-to-day basis on the ground with new digital tools and new digital services.

So we see that real fundamental digitalization of a service might actually really rethink of who actually gets that work done. Does it get automated, and the discussion is, will the robots take over the operation of our business and primarily we’re focused on managing the overall operations, and that may be the long-term trend. But what we’re talking about is applying the latest automation approaches, the latest delivery channels and organising fundamentally for digital stance.
