The Importance of Allies

As more of the world becomes digital, there can be people throughout an organization if they crystalize a specific idea and they have just one or two allies. They’re more likely to have access to people in other parts of the organization including the CEO.

One of my hot buttons is when a head of an organization talks at the rest of the employees and says, ‘here’s what we’re going to do’. And like the Johnson & Johnson CEO who tomorrow is going to announce he’s’ giving 25 million to Operation Smile, it’s because the employees said they wanted it. They said this is our value. He said I’ll back you with the money.
