Stan Swete talks about rethinking the business model, and the application architecture to take advantage of new technology and pricing / software deployment models. This is the way to create value for both the company and its customers as new disruptive businesses enter the marketplace. At Workday, this translated into making applications more widely accessible, and used beyond the back office to the rest of the enterprise.

This meant: simplifying wherever possible for both the user and Workday. For example, simplify the application and data architecture to make the infrastructure and resources more manageable and shareable over time, given the scalability and demand that the Cloud presents.
