Doug Brown is the chief marketing officer for the IBM Systems Group, responsible for worldwide marketing of the IBM Systems capabilities in Middleware, Storage, Power Systems and z Systems. In this role, Doug helps bring innovation to enterprise customers who seek to continually evolve their existing business to take advantage of new technologies. Previously, Doug spent five years as Vice President of Marketing for Smarter Computing and for the Power and System z brands. He has also held several marketing leadership positions in IBM’s Software Group, including global leadership for the Tivoli brand. Doug joined IBM in 1980 as a systems engineer in Richmond, Virginia after serving three years as a lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps. He holds a BS in Business Administration from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.
