Gahl Berkooz Biography
Gahl Berkooz was most recently the Chief of Analytics for General Motors' Global Connected Customer Experience Division, responsible for all Data, Analytics and Data Science for leveraging the connected vehicle and digital touch points to drive the best customer experience in the industry. At GM he delivered GM’s first “Customer 360” data set and its advanced analytics applications. One customer incentive personalization application saved the company over $50 Million a year alone. Prior, he established the Information Management and Analytics function at Ford Motor Company. He built the function to over 100 professionals and delivered close to $2 Billion of monetization. Dr. Berkooz obtained his Ph.D. in applied mathematics from Cornell University where he demonstrated one of the first applications of big data analytics to analyze and control complex dynamics. He has worked across a variety of industries including Aerospace, Auto, Retail, Financial Services, Defense, and Cybersecurity. Gahl works with companies to develop their Data Science strategy and build the team to deliver it. For Acorns (the leading micro-investment platform), he established the Data Science and Analytics function, recruited the team, and led the development of Acorns’ personalization engine, demonstrating an eight-fold lift in engagement for select areas of the Acorns app, and more than doubling revenue of Acorns’ Found Money product.
