Kirk Skaugen Biography

Kirk Skaugen is Executive Vice President and President of Lenovo's Data Center Group. Named to this position in November 2016, he is responsible for growing Lenovo's global footprint in data center solutions, including server, storage, networking and related software and services. Lenovo is ranked #1 in customer satisfaction in TBR's Corporate IT Buying Behavior & Customer Satisfaction Study for x86-based servers. Lenovo also ranks #2 in the global Top 500 supercomputer rankings with 99 systems powering more than 3 million processor cores working to solve the world's greatest health and scientific breakthroughs.

Prior to joining Lenovo, Mr. Skaugen worked with Intel for 24 years, a tenure that included leadership of both the company's Client Computing Group and Data Center Group as senior vice president. As head of Client Computing, Mr. Skaugen led Intel's largest business group with revenue of over $32 billion dollars for the PC, tablet and phone market segments. As leader of the Data Center Group Mr. Skaugen grew the business from $6 billion to over $10 billion in three years. This role included responsibility for Intel's data center Xeon® processors and solutions for cloud computing, high performance computing, communications infrastructure and Intel's Internet of Things (IoT) strategy and solutions.

Earlier, Mr. Skaugen was based in Singapore and served as general manager of Intel's Asia Pacific Solutions Group with responsibility for developing and delivering Intel's software solutions through relationships with system integrators and software vendors across the Asia region.

Mr. Skaugen has a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University.
