David Aires Biography

David Aires is vice president in the Information Technology Group and general manager of Information Technology (IT) Operations at Intel Corporation. He leads the strategic and tactical support of Intel's worldwide information technology infrastructure services, including data centers, network and telecommunications, client computing, and the company's internal service desk operation.

David Aires joined Intel in 1980 as a senior process engineer at Intel's Fab 5 fabrication facility in Oregon and has since served in a variety of factory management roles. From 1998 through 2006, he held plant manager positions at Intel's Fab 6 and Fab 12 facilities in Arizona, where he was responsible for the operations and production of a wafer-fabrication factory producing leading-edge microprocessor products. From 2007 to 2011, as general manager of IT factory automation, he led a global team that provided support for computing and material handling to Intel's worldwide factory network. He was responsible for providing computing solutions in areas such as manufacturing execution system performance, data collection and analysis, manufacturing data center operations, and high-performance computing operations.

Before coming to Intel, he was a senior process engineer in the semiconductor process development research and development center at Xerox Corporation.

David Aires holds bachelor's and master's degrees in physics from the University of California, Los Angeles and earned his MBA degree from Portland State University in Oregon.
